FAQ

Cerakote is a brand of high-performance ceramic coatings that are used to enhance the durability, appearance, and corrosion resistance of metal, plastic, and other surfaces. It’s often used on firearms, tools, automotive parts, and even some outdoor gear.

Here are a few reasons why you might want to use Cerakote:

  1. Durability: It provides a tough, scratch-resistant finish that can withstand extreme conditions, making it great for items exposed to harsh environments, like firearms or outdoor tools.
  2. Corrosion Resistance: Cerakote is known for its ability to resist corrosion and rust, which is crucial for items that are frequently exposed to moisture, like firearms or automotive parts.
  3. Aesthetic Appeal: It comes in a wide range of colors and finishes, so you can customize your gear or parts with a unique look while still maintaining functionality.
  4. Heat Resistance: Some Cerakote formulations can resist high temperatures, making it ideal for parts that need to withstand heat without degrading, like engine components or exhaust systems.
  5. Ease of Application: It can be applied using spray-on or dip methods, making it relatively easy to apply with the right tools and knowledge.

Basically, if you want to improve the lifespan, appearance, and performance of your items, Cerakote is a solid choice! Have you used Cerakote on anything before, or are you thinking about trying it out?

Here are a few things you can cerakote but definitely not limited to:

  1. Firearms: This is one of the most common applications. Cerakote can be applied to both metal and polymer parts of firearms to provide protection from corrosion, wear, and environmental elements.
  2. Tools: Tools like wrenches, knives, and other equipment can benefit from Cerakote’s durability, protecting them from rust and wear.
  3. Automotive Parts: Engine components, exhaust systems, and wheels can be coated with Cerakote for protection against heat, moisture, and chemicals.
  4. Motorcycle Parts: Like automotive parts, Cerakote is also used on motorcycle components, including frames, engine parts, and exhaust systems.
  5. Sporting Equipment: Items like golf clubs, bicycle parts, and even fishing reels can be coated for enhanced durability.
  6. Custom Items: Anything made from metal, ceramic, or some plastics can be Cerakoted, so people often get custom finishes on knives, jewelry, and other accessories.
